As we have mentioned earlier this year, the Collegerama recording team has been seriously decreased during the covid-pandemic. Less recordings were necessary and it was not possible to keep the same amount of student-operators.

Collegerama is doing its very best to reinforce the recording team, but this only goes as fast as recruiting and training new students. Therefore, it might occur that your recording request cannot be facilitated.

We are searching for solutions and alternatives. In case Collegerama cannot facilitate your request, we advise you:

[1] to contact your faculty scheduler to negotiate possibilities of rescheduling your course to a room with fixed Collegerama recording possibilities;

Or

[2] contact your faculty service desk to reserve a MeetUp camera and record your own lecture in for example MS Teams. We can then add your recording to the video catalogue of your course in Collegerama.

To be able to record as many requests as possible, we made a priority protocol for recordings:

  • Has the lecture been recorded in the last two years?
    If not, your request has priority
  • Is a livestream of the lecture a necessity?
    If so, your request has priority
  • How many recordings are being requested by your faculty?
    We try to find a balance between faculty requests
  • How often per week the course if offered?
    For example: can we record your course when it is offered once a week? Can we record your course when it is offered three time a week?
  • Is the location of the requested recording reachable for our recording trolley?
  • Did we receive the recording request before the deadline for the upcoming lecture period?
    For each lecture period, we have set a date before which requests should be made. After this date, there will be limited options to make recording possible. Exceptions can be made for lecture halls where Collegerama has fixed recorders in place. Recordings which require student operators and mobile recording equipment depend on the availability of said assets.

Using this priority protocol, we hope we can facilitate as many requests as possible.
